WEEKLY 1:1's
Consistency over chaos.
Delegation only works when communication is consistent. Weekly check-ins aren't optional—they’re your strongest tool to keep things on track, spot issues early, and keep momentum flowing.
Why It Matters:
Builds trust and rapport over time
Prevents silent blockers from slowing progress
Realigns expectations, priorities, and deliverables
Creates rhythm—so you’re not stuck in constant fire-fighting
Strengthens emotional connection, especially on remote teams
These conversations are small but mighty.
What to Include in Your Weekly 1:1s
A good 1:1 doesn’t need to be long—it just needs to be real. Here’s what to cover:
Wins from the week – Big or small, celebrate progress
Challenges or confusion – Clear the path for success
Upcoming tasks or shifts in focus – Stay aligned on what’s next
Personal check-in – How are they feeling about the role?
Milestones to look forward to – Create motivation with short-term goals
Optional: Use a recurring agenda doc so both sides can add notes or topics beforehand
Bonus Tips:
Keep it structured—but human. Use a shared doc or running Notion page to track questions, topics, and weekly progress. It keeps things transparent, reduces rework, and helps both sides prep meaningfully.
