Access & Tools Checklist

Make sure your new hire has secure access to:

  • Company email + calendar invites (double-check time zone settings)

  • Project management tools (e.g. Notion, ClickUp, Trello)

  • Communication platforms (Slack, Teams, etc.)

  • Password manager (e.g. 1Password or LastPass)

  • Shared folders or drive access

SOPs: Share Your Playbooks

Help your new hire hit the ground running with clear documentation for:

  • Recurring tasks

  • Communication workflows

  • Internal review or approval processes

  • Content or data update routines

Align on Workflows & Availability

Set expectations early:

  • Core working hours and availability

  • Preferred response times

  • How to handle urgent questions or blockers

  • When to use Slack, email, or async tools like Loom

Help Them Feel Part of the Team

Even before Day 1, you can build a strong sense of belonging:

  • Introduce communication norms (e.g. “We love Slack threads!”)

  • Share company values and team rituals

  • Record a short welcome Loom from their manager or team
